“And I Love Her” was written by Paul McCartney and John Lennon, although mostly McCartney, the story goes. Lennon contributed the middle section that beings “A love like ours/Could never die.” The song appeared on their third album A Hard Day’s Night and in their film A Hard Day’s Night. They released it as a single on July 20, 1964, and it went to #12 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. The B-Side was “If I Fell.” Personnel for the track were the Fab Four: Paul McCartney (vocal, bass), John Lennon (acoustic rhythm guitar), George Harrison (acoustic lead guitar) and Ringo Star (bongos, claves). George Martin produced it. It is classic British Invasion Sixties music.
